I am using Gordian Knot to create an MPEG-4 DivX AVI file. After
using DGIndex to create the d2v project file, I find that I have a
demuxed ac3 audio file named as 'myproject AC3 T01 3_2ch 384Kbps
Delay -34ms.ac3'. Notice that delay of -34ms. Do I have to correct
that delay (to 0 ms) before I proceed? A search through google and
the forums at doom9, videohelp.com, afterdawn.com did not provide
any clues. Anybody here can help me?

Thanks

You don't necessarily have to. It MAY cause a noticeable audio delay,
though I doubt a scant -34ms will be noticeable.

The way I correct audio delay is, I do my frameserving or encoding with
VirtualDub, and it has the ability to change the audio delay. My
understanding is that if the DGIndex or DVD2AVI demuxed AC3 tells you
-34ms, that's the value you enter in VDub: -34ms.

If you're using Gordian Knot then that delay spec will be used to properly
sync the audio to the video when the interleaving is performed in the last
step of preparing the avi file. You shouldn't have to worry about it at
all.
