multi XVID > DVD |
|
|
hey all,
I have several 350 meg episodes of a tv show that are Xvids. I can each
singly to DVD, but is there a way to use more than one episode per 4.7gig
dvd? I forget the size offhand of the size that TMPGEnc is making the dvd.
I think its roughly over 2 gig in size. Thats fine to me if I can fit at
least two on my dvd+rw or dvd-r disks. Most likely it will be dvd+rw. I
guess the point is still the same. Can I make two xvids play off of one dvd
in a standalone player. I have the phillips 642, so this is not normally a
problem as it plays everything. It will even toast bread if I can fit it
into the player :) However, Im intending on using a standalone player that
Im not familiar with. Im not sure if it can play vcd, mpeg etc... I just
was hoping to go more "fail safe" with a dvd that I do know it has not had
trouble with from my burns. Those however have been dvd rips to dvd.
Im trying as we speak on certain attempts, but its a long process.... :(
thanks,
sl

Hi SL,
I have found that DVD Santa (despite the dreadful name) is great for putting
Xvids/Divx back onto DVD format.
You can add multiple files and it will encode to fill the 4.3 Gb. It adds
chapters every ten minutes so you can jump forwards/backwards as well as
fast-forward.
Really easy to set up, just choose Standard, resolution and aspect ratio.

Thanks for the tip. I came across it once before while looking for a dvd
crack. I found what I was really looking for was AnyDVD. I tried the Santa
but it too did not crack the encryption. I found that for the particular
needs at that time, it did not justify having yet another program installed.
I will look at that one again.
Thank you Clive,
SL
