normalize mp3 |
|
|
Hi everybody,
I was thinking in normalizing all my mp3's, but of course that afte
all i have done to get a great sound quality, i dont want to loose an
of it. So my question is: does normalizing software's affect the mp3'
sound quality? Cause there are programs that "dont" change the file
format when normilizing.
Thanks a lot,
Jaso

Normalizing "should" adjust the 0 db point, with all other values, dynamic
range, etc remaining in proper relation to the peak level. I guess some
programs may not be quite perfect at this, but I'd strongly suspect you'd
never hear any problems.

I use a program called MP3Gain which applies reversible normalizing.

I _think_ but I don't know for sure that some player programs
"normalize" without modifying the file at all, but instead analyze the
mp3 for its average level, and calculate a gain setting that they
store in the music library along with the song, thus avoiding recoding
the mp3.
It's technically possible, anyway. I don't know which programs do
that and which don't however.
Best Regards,
