HDTV from 35mm film |

3 page interview with that guy... Josef Krebs (his company specilizes in
digital transfers of old Hollywood 35mm film stocks, ie the Starwars DVD!).
Anyways, the interesting point here, is the fact that those old Starwars
film stocks (35mm). -The film themselves Contain alot of information, so
much so, that when scanned and stored digitaly...they can get 2X the
resolution of current HD 1080i, or more. -Why? because they can. Cool.

Actually, he uses 4X which is currently more than adequate for 35mm. He used |
2X on those special effects films where the special effects were of the
lower 2X resolution. He did not get into a discussion of 65mm neg stock on
75mm display stock.
