I encode my mpg files to divx or xvid using Vdub-mod. They are 16:9
and 4:3 aspect ratio mpg's.

When I'm done encoding to avi format, vdub doesn't show any aspect
ratio in the File Information. But the Avicodec program shows the
original aspect ratio of the avi to be the same as the mpg's were.

Bsplayer displays them correctly. But VLC and Windvd6 don't. They
display them with the aspect ratio which makes them unviewable.

I'd rather use VLC to view them since it only uses 10% of the cpu
whereas Bsplayer uses over 50%.

What's going wrong here? Thanks for any help.

I don't think I explained how VLC and WinDVD displays the avi's
clearly enough. The width of the video (no matter what size the
video) is always displayed from one side of my screen to the other.
My screen resolution is 1024x768. Thanks again.
