Got a XVID and a Divx file that is letter boxed, but when I use
TMPGENC to make it into a VCD (Dont ask, I know Im losing quality, but
I need it in VCD format)

How do I do it so that it keeps the BLACK BARS. I tried earlier but
got a stretched image. Ive used TMPG for years, but never took the
time to figure out the settings for this. Just stuck to old 4:3
files. If I could get over this hump id be in much better shape.

HELP anyone?

Click settings, then on the Advanced tab select the dropdown "video arrange
method" and set it at "Full screen(keep aspect ratio)"
bob's your uncle Black bars intact.

Yes, exactly. Or otherwise the heads of people will be long and thin.

I've found that a high quality Divx file of say 1.2 gig can be encoded into
Mpg1 with fairly good results. So many stand-alone DVD players don't play
Divx or SVCD so Mpg1 on VCD is a good option.

My next project is to burn a Video-DVD with Mpg1 files. Does anyone know if
this available with Nero?
