burning a cd on DVD |
|
|
Hello everyone
I have 25 songs or so that I'd like on one CD. Here is my question:
1. Is it possible to lower the file size to actually fit on a CD and
put into audio format?
2. Can I burn onto a DVD like I do onto a CD, so it can just store more
info, or can that not be done using an audio format?

The CD audio standard ("red book standard") is blind to file sizes--it
only cares about duration. If you have more than 74 minutes of songs
(sometimes you can get away with 80min on 80min disks, depending on
the player), you won't be successful in making a CD audio format disk
that will play in a CD player.
While you can compress the songs into mp3 format and get it onto a
CD-R disk formated as a data disk, that will not play in a player
unless it supports "mp3 CD's." Some newer CD players do support
this.

That's also a data format disk, and an optical format that only DVD
players and DVD drives on computers could possibly read.
