I have an older Panasonic DVD/VCR combo unit, (D4762). It has an
outstanding TV tuner/VCR player. I actually get a better picture on my
TV using the Panasonic tuner than I do with the TV. And one older tape
I have plays without a flaw in the VCR while a new Sony VCR and an
older Toshiba VCR could not track properly giving a wavy bottom half
of the screen. I don't know if Panasonic makes superior TV tuner/VCR
player components or if I just have an unusual model.

Anyway, I am in the market for a new VCR/DVD combo or for separate DVD
- VCR players. This unit would be dedicated to copy to DVD of some
existing VHS tapes, some that I recorded from TV and some I bought,
and for making backups of some DVDs that I own. I have a WinTV-PVR-250
TV/Capture card and a Pioneer DVR-108 DVD burner installed in my PC.

I would appreciate recommendations for a new DVD/VCR player(s) that
has functions and features and would meet the objectives that I outlined.
