Which DVDShrink version is better? |
|
|
Hi
I have versions 2.3, 3.16 and 3.17. Which would be the most reliable
version to use?
I read in this group a while back that 3.17 was having problems with
copyright protection, hence my question. Should I install the older
version or even bypass all 3 and download the latest?
The groups opinion would be appreciated.
TIA
Mark

I still use the beta3.05, seems to give better results than the later
versions, except maybe for the newest, 3.2.0.17 I think, with both quality
settings on.

I've not seen any difference in quality. I'm currently using 3.1.7.6, and
see no reason to go with a newer version, unless if finally resolves the
issue of ripping from Philips DVD Recorder TV recordings (that is, being
able to rip from this DVD+RW without having to record the whole DVD). I
love DVD Shrink and just can't understand why this problem is ignored
(actually, I am guessing it is because it affects relatively few DVD Shrink
users - but I'm not the only one). |

I started out using version 3 beta 5 with no problem. Later I tried
the most recent one but every rip would fail during the "backup"
process.
I'm too impatient to try to find out why it wasn't working so
I switched back to v.3beta5. I guess that what my daddy used to
say was true all along: Ïf it ain't broke, don fix it!
