Replace remote control for RCA VR 340 |
|
|
Where might I find a remote control for an RCA VR 340?
Neither RCA nor www.fox-international.com has them.
I expect that it is rather unlikely that a universal remote, even one from
RCA, would work with on screen programming forte VR 340.
Should I just give up the hunt and retire the VCR

Thanx.
Looks like I either should buy another VCR, or check if any RCA universal
remote will support programming VR 340.
I asked RCA the latter and they could not answer.

It does make much sense to pay $49.95 + shipping for a remote.
I can get a low end VCR for not much more.
I'll take a look at the RCA universal remotes at Best Buy, etc.
I guess there's a chance that an RCA universal might allow for on screen
programming of the remote. |

I got lucky.
Purchased a low end RCA remote control at Best Buy.
Works, including on screen menu, for the VCR.
Supposedly works for most TV/VCR made after 1990.

I did find at least one feature the remote will not program.
After having the VCR automatically detect the stations it likes to
receive, the remote does not seem to have any way to delete/erase a station
from the list.
It might have a way to add a station, but I've not yet gotten that to work.
