Re: Need Help - Pioneer P-D70 CD Player |

Wow. This one predates my experience. I do think some cleaning and general
maintenance is where I'd start. Some older players had problems with belts
driving the clamping mechanism. Often dirty lenses, and bad lube on
wormscrews, or the belts driving them would go bad. Sometimes the laser is
just bad. This would be unfortunate, Pioneer might not even carry it
anymore. Some models later than yours had common problems with shorted
spindle motors, though I suspect yours, since it's older, might use a
direct-drive motor. Even these could have problems, though.

Trying to remember this model. Not a common one.
Maybe a loading belt slipping?

Can anyone help??
When inserting a disc, the disc drawer closes, then it comes back out
again after a few seconds. Would welcome any advice as to what could
be wrong....
