I got new this sony 8mm player in 1990?. It was stored in a box for many
years, inside, clean etc. worked fine last night, all clear and good sound.

Now this morning all horizontal lines and garbled sound, barely make out the
image...kind of looks like fast forward but it's clicking off the seconds in
real time. I think I might have a combination of setting wrong. Anyone
have the owners manual? Any place to download the pdf or equivalent? (web
search no help)

Specifically what should the thing be set to. My TV is set to ch4, like the
switch on the 8mm VCR pack panel (change to ch 3 no help), Input=L1, ANT=VTR

changing input/ant no help.

The edit shuttle RH "fwd" arrow and the "recorder" (1:00 position) light are
both on and green ...I think this is wrong and maybe I just need to hit a
button? Should the "player" light be lit and not the "recorder"?
