Hello,
I have been able to get rid (return to store for refund) of my Panasonic
VCR PV-V4623 which was giving me snow. When I came home, I borrowed my
neighbour's one and the tapes recorded with the unit I returned had
very bad tracking, and showed distorsion on top of screen, but no snow!
His machine has DynAmorphous Metal Head 4 system. All other tapes play fine
on this machine. This is a Panasonic PV-V4662.

I'd like to get a brand new VCR which has (DynAmorphous) metal heads, whether
Panasonic or any other brand. Can someone recommend any one? I can't find
anything. The one I had bought and returned was the best one I could find
locally, all others are cheaper and none have metal heads. I don't mind
paying more, but I'd like a good one.

It's probably not the heads, but the fact that your neighbor's VCR doesn't have
good interchange with your tapes due to calibration differences.

Try a different VCR. - Reinhart
