Here's a list of the 100 most popular Season Passes, as provided by
TiVo:

Also included on that page is a list of the 25 highest-rated TiVoed

Most of these programs are not watched in this household.
I noticed that Navy NCIS and NCIS both appear in the list.
Navy NCIS must be an inactive SP from last season since
the program name was changed for the new season.
Are any of the 100 most popular Season Passes for shows
that no longer air, other than Navy NCIS? |

"Amazing Race 5", "Last Comic Standing", "Big Brother 5", and "The Casino"
are all over, as far as I know.
"The 4400" was a miniseries that is done.
There are lots on the list that are only in reruns (some, like "Seinfeld"
that are *long* gone from new episodes), and many that don't start showing
anything again for months ("24", "American Idol", etc.).
"Alias" is on *serious* hiatus. I think "LAX" is recently toast, although
NBC may burn off the episodes. "dr. vegas" was officially cancelled this
past week.
"The Bachelor" likely won't come up as a match on an SP (like "Survivor").

Why do they bother? They don't even tell you what the list actually is.
Are these the 100 most popular Season Passes today? this week? last month?
the month before? ever?
With so many cable stations limiting program seasons to 13-14 episodes,
there's a lot of down time between seasons and a lot of useless season
passes throughout the year. Sometime next summer (2005) I hope to get new
episodes of Nip/Tuck and Rescue Me, but until then the fact that I have
season passes for them doesn't mean a damn thing. |

Good point. I took it that it was current information, or at least as
current as the ratings list they provided (i.e., mid-October of this
year), but I had no reason to assume so.

I think it migth mean that you (likely) had been watching those shows,
and that you expect to be watching them again when new episodes finally
come along. I say "likely" because I've accummulated a raft of
episodes of something via a Season Pass and then dumped it all when I
found I hadn't watched any of it, even after eight or nine months. |

I just don't get the demise of Tough Crowd with Colin Quin........ arrgh
Although I kinda blamed Dave Chappel. LOL Thinking his new multimillion
dollar contract might of gotten Colin ousted. Colin commented on it before
and I thought he might of approached the Network for a major raise...
But I see his show is not in the top 100.... so much for my theory.. :-)

Tough Crowd was the kind of show you'd watch for a while and then drift
away from. Maybe you'd come back later, maybe not. I'm sorry it's
gone, mainly because it was very funny (most nights) and because I saw
many comedians on there who were, to me, fresh faces. There aren't
many venues left for performers like that.
But I do blame the deal with Chapelle. As they say in publishing, his
enormous deal seems to have sucked the life out of the midlist. And
what *is* it about Chapelle? I find him agreeable, but no big deal.
Are they still looking for the next Chris Rock? |

I can't take anything away from Chappel. His is by far the best skit comedy
going now. Especially since SNL is in a mediocre drift cycle again.
But I couldn't hit the bed without my nightly dose of DailyShow
and Colin (which I considered the most enjoyable half hour on TV at the
moment)... :-)
