Circuit City install |
|
|
Circuit City installers came out today. Said there was no way to get
the cable up to the second floor of the house.
Said they didn't see any mounting points suitable except installing a
ten foot pool in the front yard. They weren't sure if it would get the
signal, but even if it didn't I'd still have to pay the $100 for the
pole installation for them to test.
To get the cables run through the crawlspace under the house and up
through the floors (not fished through the walls with wall plates) and
to run one additional, unused line for a future tivo upgrade ($50)
would cost $300 (including pole).
Oh yeah, and they weren't going to bury the cables from the pole to
the house either (so there'dbe like 200 ft of RG6 cable stretched
across the front of the house).
And this was just a figure scratched on notebook paper.

Sounds like you got a bad crew/company. Circuit city outsource all those
installs to local satellite companies. I would call Circuit City and
request a different installation company, or, call around yourself and find
someone you like (though you will have to pay).
