6ME5 / 6E5M 'Magic Eye' - "6me5.jpg" (0/1) 35.5 kBytes yEnc |

Thanks for the responses group... attached (sorry if attachments are
not normally allowed) is a scan of the tube. Pin out and values etc
are available at the German site supplied by Ruud and Bill. Other
manufacturers appear to be Rodin and Toyo.
For Frank: I found somewhere in my search that the 6ME5 is in fact the
miniature version of the 6E5, itself a "Glass type used to indicate
visually by means of a fluorescent target the effects of a change in
controlling voltage. It is used as a convenient means of indication
accurate radio-receiver tuning."
For Ralph: My example does not have a red dot. the tip is the regular
cone reflector with a button center piece (not apparent in scan).
For Scott: Pin out and voltages etc available at the site as
mentioned above.
For John" The 6E5 is an 'ST' type that most certainly wouldn't fit
the AJ-11S tuner.
For Ruud: Thanks for the web site, also passed to me by Bill via
another group.
Hardest question... where can I locate two of these odd balls?
Thanks again for all the support guys, greatly appreciated.

Its a convoluted way of saying the shortened version of
"YYYOOOOOOO
bastard, how dare you you you use y encoding, when all I can read is a jpg."
Patrick Turner.
PS,
My PC is a Yenc free machine.

Pat Turner's response is closest ;-)
I have an older newsreader, so it doesn't automatically launch
attachments. yEnc means I have to save the file and run a decoder on it,
then peek at it in a viewer.
I could use a newer reader, but at reduced security :-/
