LCD monitor and mpg/divx movies... |
|
|
Hi!
I just upgraded (I think) my computer system to include a Samsung 710T
monitor. Throwing out my CRT screen would be real nice, big and clumpy as it
was...now, everything works ok, the picture is good and everything...except
when playing movie files, mpg's and avi's.
The thing is that there are artifacts, pixelation and "speedlines", ie.
there is like a tail when the picture is panning. It is most prominent when
watching edges, which become blurry. It is kind of hard to explain this
exact but maybe a simple drawing makes things clearer:
This:

becomes this:

--------
---

This only happens with mpg/avi-files. I tried it with a DVD-movie and it
looked ok. Fast pacing games also works like a dream.
My system is an AMD XP 2000+ with an ATI Radeon 8500 graphics card. The
changes to my system is that there now is the LCD-screen, I have changed
from standard VGA output to DVI with the bundled DVI cable, and I have
installed the monitor drivers from Samsung's bundled CD. The screen is
running at the native 1280 x 1024 resolution.
Any help would be appriciated!
