Hi. What does it mean when VCDEasy gives a frame error and crashes,
yet virtualdub finds no video error? How can one fix the file so
VCDEasy will work?

I'd use TMPGenc's MPEGTools to demux the video to separate audio and video
streams.
Then re-mux them together - works a lot of the time.
