Well, looks like the Panasonic PV-GS400 does indeed have a "true" 16:9
"pseudo-anamorphic" mode.

Now this is cool on my end because I have a TV that can handle this
mode.

However ...

I am the only one in the family who does have this capability.

And it looke like the tone curves (you video types call this "gamma" I
guess?) and the "pseudo-30p" is tied to this mode.

Question ... can Adobe Premiere or something of the sort shove this
widescreen mode back into letterbox and/or is this handled in the DVD
authoring software so that this widescreen footage can be played back
on a regular TV?
