Hi!
just starting out
I received a Panasonic wv-v3 camera and it seems to be in working order
so far
Question
"CENT" keeps flashing in the viewfinder regardless of what I do switch wise
Please what does this mean
also I ask if any one has a operators manual for this camera I'd gladly
pay a reasonable fee if you would photocopy it and send it
email
bmoas@yahoo.com
Thanks
George

Eeeek. It sounds like an old tube camera. "Cent" sounds like it
wants to be aimed at a test pattern chart and have the red and
blue channel sweeps centered relative to the green (reference)
channel. If there aren't any switches on the camera head for
this, it may require a CCU to be fully functional. Dunno whether
it has auto-centering, or requires manual tweaking. One of the
reasons to avoid tube cameras, IMHO.

Somebody here has one. Maybe they have the manual?

When I Googled "manual panasonic WV-V3" I got 9 hits
including 7 that mentioned WV-V3 specifically.

It may refer to center-weighting of the auto-iris function, meaning that a
change of brightness has to happen int he center third of the field ov view
befor the auto-isis will begin to compensate. Handy for spotlit people
against dark stages.

Is there an "Auto-Centering" button? If so focus the camera on a registration
chart (thin, black horizontal and vertical lines drawn on white paper, about
10 lines each) and press the "Auto-Centering" button & see what that does.

Otherwise, you'll have to register it manually.

Turned out is was alignment
I found a "auto center" switch on the front of the camera
and used the yellow stripe on the road in front of my house to do the
alignment
I am familiar with aligning the crt's in old projection tv's
this was much easier
Camera seems great for 100$

Don't know anything specific about this camera, but once it is aligned, you may
be surprised at the picture quality (given sufficient light).
