Introduction |
PAudio speakers are made by one of the largest professional audio
speaker companies in the world. But no one has discovered that they are
also among the best home audio speakers in the world. Only Lowther
full-range drivers from England sound better (click here). But the
PAudios can do things that the 8 inch Lowthers cannot. The power and
dynamics are unrivaled.....not just by Lowthers, but by any other
speaker in the world at any price. The build quality is so superb and
the magnets so heavy, that it is difficult for most people to even pick
up the larger drivers (nearly 40 lbs each).......and that's without any
cabinet. Many of the woofers will handle 500 watts RMS. And the larger
tweeters have 2 inch throats and will handle 100 watts RMS.
We've heard most of the world's so-called greatest speakers--Wilson
Grand Slamm, JM Labs Grande Utopia, Genesis 1, Dynaudio Evidence, etc.
(all over $50,000/pr). None of these speakers come close to PAudios in
a properly designed enclosure. That's not just our opinion. Everyone
who has heard them has agreed.

This is the guy who was selling Lowthers in monkey coffins and would
whack-a-mole Usenet for years until he was ran off.
If he gets people like Doug Sax to endorse them as superior to the
Altec 604 I would have to give him some credibility. He hasn't,
doesn't, and won't.
These are probably not even as good as the old Tannoys that Tannoy
will only sell as part of the ridiculously overpriced corner horns any
more.
The single driver guys have their legitimate arguments, but there are
legit guys like Nelson Pass out there, and ass-cowboys like David
Dicks. The legit guys admit the failings up front, and have designed
purpose built amplifiers and elaborate cabinets like the J.Low. The ass
cowboys are selling horseshit to gullibards and dumbshits. A single
driver in a monkey coffin is going to sound like a 1938 cathedral
radio, or a Charlie Christian era Gibson steel guitar amp. You want
that you should audition an open backed 2x12" guitar cabinet with your
stereo setup first. You might be surprised at how listenable much pop
music is with that setup. (Get off your ass and try it, don't take my
word for it or nod...ya lazy bastards.) But it isn't right. It's all
midrange. |
