burning downloaded films to disc |
|
|
I have downloaded a couple of films from WINMX that I can watch perfectly
well on my PC
but can't burn to DVD. I have NERO Startsmart and have no problems normally
putting films on DVD and its just these films that I can't burn so I know
there's nothing wrong with my PC or the software I'm using. Any ideas? Could
they be copy-protected and if so is there any way round it? Thanks.

What format are they in and what messages are you getting in Nero? I
normally have no problems converting and burning AVI's with Nero except
occasionally I get the message that resultant file size is too big for 4.7GB
DVD-R. For these I use DVD Santa. I did have one which had an OGM extension
but no matter what I tried couldn't get it to convert and burn. Looked for
it again in AVI format and no problem then.

Also be very suspicious of films downloaded from WINMX, Kazaa etc. I
downloaded 2 which had the names of well known films on them but when opened
turned out to be blue movies. I'm broadminded and have nothing against blue
movies but I do have a young daughter and wouldn't like to think that she
would have opened them.

Hi Kenny, I've had the same problem. Luckily I always check the films I've
downloaded before letting the kids watch them!!! Nero doesn't give any
message it just closes. They were both supposed to be AVI's.

Do these AVI's play OK on your PC? Maybe give DVD Santa a try, I don't know
what if any limitations there are on the trial version but it's a small
download.
