I just joined a small production company, and one thing they need is a
library system, for both existing footage, masters, and other elements,
and stuff yet to come.

I'd like to hear how people have addressed library issues. Thanks!

You can use a database like Filemaker Pro or any other.

I used a barcode system for film library of visual FX in early days, I wrote
the database app for that one.

The same system that printed the barcodes did the labels for the boxes.

No matter what you do, someone will mess it up.
