My budget is in the pd 170 range.I don't want to spend a great deal of money

and then hardly use the thing;commercially that is,so I want a sort of
starter cam but good enough if I decide to take it futher I don't need to
shop again..

I should imagine openly flaunting one of these rather more expensive white
mong devices on a crowded tube will hasten one's head being kicked in when
one leaves.

Hi,

Thanks Ken and Loren for your replies. The file that will not play or import
on the +R discs is the one I have put stars next to in the example below.
All the other files are present, it doesn't seem anything is missing. Magix
just says "file VTS_01_1.VOB is not a supported file format and can not be
opened". It's so annoying because the file is the same format as the one
below it, the same size as the one below it etc. The DVD plays fine in the
DVD standalone player so the file is not corrupted.

And for the <$5 the ads have generated, it hardly pays a day's web hosting
let alone the cost of the MSDN subscription, video equipment blah blah.

Go rent a film from your favorite video store and examine an action scene
in slo-mo; you'll see it.

Transfer your videotape the same way, and you'll come a lot closer to
making it look like film.

NOW - how to set up an video editor to do this automatically...Hmmm...

well I don't think they actually expect a currently working artist to do
this.
Probably by posting this here they are hoping and probably will find a
talent young artist (just starting out)
hoping to make a name for themselves by highlighting their talent, and many
being compensated by the credit.
Or a retired artist who has time and wants to do it as a hobby and the $500
extra cash.

With so many people learning flash and other software i suspect they should
find someone.
And i suspect we will see much more of this in the future on these groups.

They are not looking for a just an artist they want a artist editor and
animator just look at the skill set, Flash, FCP, After Effects. I
still feel that $500 is exploitation. I bet their talent gets paid a
decent amount for each show. Just because someone lacks experience is
no reason to undervalue their talent.

Now it's not that I don't believe in paying your dues and working your
way up. Spent many hours' video taping bar review lectures when I
started out. The only difference is I was getting paid a fair wage for
that skill set. Here they want to pay cheap wages for high skills.
