Well, I use the widely-despised Outlook Express and it is quite

Do you do this by filter, or by just looking at the number of lines?
I retrieve the full message. Since I have broadband now, I don't "feel"
it that much anymore, if someone posts a large message, but before
on my 28k8 dial-up (which I still had half a year ago), and my
pay-per-minute+pay-per-data, I did hate it. When the retrieval
didn't go fast enough, I stopped, deleted the message, and then
head to sort out what else still needed to retrieved.

A bit on-topic now: I am watching Schepsi's "Baraka" at the moment. That's
an awesome movie. A must-see for everybody who is going to do their own
travel-videos :)) (that also means Ptravel ;-) ).

cheers

I just look at the size (KB). I'm still on 48K dialup :-(

FYI many people (like me) use Free Agent, which is a completely
servicable newsreader, but doesn't offer options for 'filter idiotic
messages of 4 meg'. Maybe it should.

Yeah, it's a pity this isn't possible with Agent. When you grab new
headers, the amount of lines is grabbed as well, but if you create a filter
for "lines:", the silly thing says that's not possible. A solution for you
would be to install your local NNTP-server, which downloads the messages
again from your ISP, and apply some filter-rules on that one. You would
download your filtered messages from your own NNTP-server again.

Incidentally, Agent 3 was released last week, I may well be taking a
look at that. The nice thing (other than the 1980s UI !) is it comes
finally with mutiple news server support, so I can get my ISP's listed
groups as well as a range of groups outside that heirarchy.

Even I don't fully understand Graphedit... I can fiddle with it to make it
dump a WMV into a DV file, but aside from that it's quite confusing.
Basically what the program does is let you build an alternate filter chain
for any situation. If you 'render' a file within Graphedit it'll show you
the chain that a DirectShow application would use to display the video.

If you just want to see the DS filters used, often GSpot is a lot more
intuitive to use ;-))

I got it installed already. What I like is the fact that if you get the new
headers, it'll do groups concurrently, and not sequential anymore :)

for 3 camera you should forget any of the prosumer stuff -
no sync'd tc between cameras, no guarantee of white
balance, etc.,

Pay VERY CAREFUL attention to that paragraph. I will
KILL you if you try to do a multi-camera live-switched
production with cameras that lack CCUs and all the
attendant multi-camera features.

Make that read: "It will KILL you..."
I didn't mean that as a personal threat! :-)
