libav v xvid4 x divx |
|
|
Does anyone have much experience using libav? I find the avi's are
similar in quality to xvid4 mostly, tending to be slightly more pixellated
in some cases, but are much quicker to encode. The colour sometimes looks
off with xvid4, however.
I never get satisfactory results with divx so I tend to use xvid4 or libav
depending on the circumstances.

Have you ever tried transcode with divx4 (the original libdivxencore.so |
and libdivxdecore.so ?
I have incredible results with that.
(BTW guys this is Linux soft).
I have avilib disabled... in configure, always compile problems..

No; I tried divx5, but I recall that the later versions wouldn't work on
P4 machines so I had to use a slightly older version on my desktop.

I might try it. I use transcode with dvd::rip as a frontend. I tried
Acidrip a few times but found it buggy and I don't like the fact that you
can't save your rips to be encoded at a later date.
