I'm shopping around for a wireless microphone setup for the following
application ... different than most.

I'm making a wireless game caller, mostly for photography. I'll
attach an MP3 player to the sending unit, and patch the receiving unit
(through an audio amplifier if needed) into a SPECO PA Speaker. I
will be using the system in the wilderness, not near buildings, or
disturbances other than what is found in nature.

Looking at the NADY ad Azden units - would like good/crisp sound up to
50-75 yards, 100 if possible. Don't want to break the bank either.
What low-end units are worth looking at for this application? The
sound will be digital going into the unit from the MP3 player, and I
will use a 6' patch cord to provide a better sending antenna. The
patch cords on the recieving end will be kept short.

Will Nady 351, or Azden WLX-Pro/Azden WMS-Pro units do the trick? Any
help from the video group community would be welcomed.

Thanks in advance.

Samson Airline Series works well to about 50 yards (could be more with
enhanced sending antennas). Very small; surprising quality. You may
want to adjust the input sensitivity way down for the sender to be
compatible with the MP3 player's output. The receiver has ability to
output at line and mic levels, plus has a headphone output.

Note that the optimal antenna length is tied to the carrier frequency
(and normally is 1/8, 1/4, or 1/2 the wavelength). It is actually
possible to get a weaker signal out by lengthening an antenna -
depends...
