Easily. This machine would read brail chisseled onto a brick if you could
fit it into the slot. :)
Seriously, it has no problem reading all the DVD media out there.

Absofuckinglutly right they will!!! |
As far as I know that is the only way to burn them to a CD other than
converting the AVI to a SVCD or DVD format.

And the blank DVD-R is so cheap now. I got 25 blank discs for $10. That's
40 cents each. About 4 years ago, I think they were about $2 each. I saw
some DVD-Double Layer for $10 each.

and they play perfectly. Since divx is a form of compression, you can get
quite alot of divx on a DVD-R disk. The Philips player apparently will
play any type of video just burned as a data file, you don't need
DVD-video, VCD, SVCD, or any of them. And all for only $85!

I'm tempted to get a dvp642 myself for the divx. Only thing is
I have a Philips 724 now and it's a bit unique in that it has
2 sets of RCA audio outputs(red & white) making it easy
to put the audio through both my TV and Stereo sets.
Does the dvp642 have one or two sets of RCA audio outs?
I can't find a rear view of the player anywhere online.
TIA |

One set of RCA audio out only. Also, there are two digital audio
outs: one coaxial and one optical.
