what does the loundness and tone swiches do?--just bought it on auction

played with them and nothing changes output

maybe not working?

Loudness adds extra bass at lower volume levels to compensate
for our ears not hearing bass as well at lower sound levels.
Loudness only works in the first 40% of the volume control
range, so with the volume low, cycle the loudness on and off
and see if you hear a difference in the bass level.
