I noticed that Samsung is offering a firmware "upgrade" for the SIR-T165 to
make it support the broadcast flag. They claim that if you do not upgrade the
box will lock up if it sees the flag in a stream. (So much for the promise
that older equipment would continue to operate unchanged. :() Anybody know
just what the upgrade does? I'd be surprised if the box has enough extra
horsepower to deal with encrypted IEEE1394 (and has the spec even been fully
standardized yet?). So will they just disable digital outputs if they see
the broadcast flag or what?

Where can you get the upgrade, do you have a link and how do you upgrade?
I have this tuner I bought at Best Buy for $89.00. What is a broadcast flag
?
Thanks
Danny

But it may be more of a downgrade. :(
