I just got the above . I tried to transfer video to my computer using the
usb-2. The video transfered fine but w/o the audio. I did some seraching
and from what I was able to peice together was that to get video & audio I
need to use there i-link firewire, cable!

Is that that true? or am I doing something wrong. I am using the s/w that
sony packaged with there camera.

Thanks

The i link is just Sonys fancy name for firewire. I know firewire
will transfer adudio and vidieo at the same time. Not sure about USB.
Then again it might be the software you are using to capture is crap.

I just got a fire-wire cable 4pin to 6pin and it worked fine. Voice
and video transferred from camera to computer w/o a problem.
Sony's s/w is called ImageMixer 1.5. I'm sure that there are other
programs. What I still would like to know is why can't I transfer
voice and video with USB-2?

Thanks

Because the camera and software are made to transfer voice and video
over FireWire (iLink, IEEE1394) only.
