Read this, if you get the error "Could not complete the last command
because: EditOnDisc -- disc in inconsistent state. (DVDErr. -31000)..." in
Sonic MyDVD.

I had this error when trying to add a movie to an existing DVD. I first
thought that the problem was due to the fact I was editing an existing DVD
and that that disc was in some inconsistent state. It took me a while to
figure out that the MPEG movie I tried to add was causing the trouble. I
discovered that by creating the DVD image on the hard disk, giving exactly
the same problem.

I created the problematic movie from Adobe Premiere using the Pinnacle DV500
Plus Turbo MPEG encoder. This encoder creates two streams: the movie stream,
being an MPEG-2 stream (a file with .mp2 extension) and a synchronous
uncompressed PCM audio stream (a file with .wav extension). I don't know why
in this case I had this problem as I've created numerous other DVD's in the
same way without any such problems. Anyway, I came on the idea to multiplex
the two streams into one MPEG-2 stream, and that solved my problem!

So if you ever have this problem with Sonic MyDVD and the movie giving the
problem is a two stream MPEG-2 formatted movie, try multiplexing it.

My configuration is Sonic MyDVD 3.5.1 and Pinnacle DV500 Plus with 4.5
software. I've multiplexed the seperate MPEG-2 streams using TMPGEnc, using
the File | Tools options.

Hope this helps some of you out there!
Cheers, Hans Geurtsen.
