Converting a video file |
|
|
Sorry if posted in the wrong group, this seemed to be the only "video"
related group without porn.
Since I could figure out how to download the clip, I found a .dat file on
my computer of a tv interview that I watched as a stream online. I want to
save it but cannot figure out how to convert it into a viewable file. Anyone
know how or where I may be able to find the answer? Thanks.

DAT file is just a MPG file. Rename the file to .MPG and you should be able
to play it.
You can also use Media Player to directly open the DAT file.

Thanks Tony, I tried that. Tells me the file cannot be played, it may be
corrupt or a codec is missing or something like that.
